Josh Bowler wants to quit Everton and kickstart career, Blackpool and Lincoln interested

Blackpool and Lincoln are interested in signing Josh Bowler in the summer with the attacker set to quit Everton, according to Football League World.

The football news website claims Bowler, 22, is at a point where he wants to move away from Goodison Park and “kickstart his career” elsewhere.

Blackpool and Lincoln, who are currently doing well in the League One play-offs, could promise Bowler Championship football next season as they aim to sign the former QPR winger, who’s never made a senior appearance for Everton.

Fresh start

Bowler’s career at Everton has simply failed to come alive so it seems only natural for the winger to bid farewell to Goodison Park and move on this summer.

When he arrived from QPR in 2017, we all thought the Blues had made a good signing.

He’d made his Championship debut for the London club when he was 18-years-old and, as reported by Sky Sports, the Toffees spent £4.25million on acquiring him.

However, that money now looks set to be flushed down the drain with Blackpool and Lincoln chomping at the bit to sign the “highly-rated” winger on a free transfer.

Whoever sanctioned that kind of spend on Bowler clearly made the wrong call and it’s something that the Everton ownership should look into.

However, it’s been four years since that deal was agreed and it’s likely that the club has already learned it’s lessons by now.

Unfortunately, the club won’t get the money back for Bowler but the least they can do is do right by the footballer and allow him to move on and choose his next destination.

Good luck, Josh.
