Yannick Bolasie likely to leave Everton in summer – Sky Sports
Everton are likely to offload Yannick Bolasie this summer as they plan for numerous reinforcements to their squad.
The Toffees whimpered to a 10th-placed finish in the Premier League despite European football being a strong possibility all season.
Bolasie hasn’t featured for Everton consistently for years, and was sent out on loan to Middlesbrough in the previous campaign.
Writing on a Sky Sports preview of the upcoming summer window, there were, even more, exits expected from Goodison Park.
“Theo Walcott has made a permanent switch to Southampton but Everton will also likely offload Yannick Bolasie this summer to make way for another attacking wide player to provide competition across the forward line,” they wrote.
Competition.
It is very clear that our squad was nowhere near good enough to qualify for Europe in the end, but the chance missed is agonising.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and James Rodriguez are our only serious attacking options, and past that is a disaster.
The arrival of Josh King was nothing short of a failure, and the options beyond that were embarrassing when we desperately needed help in the final third.
It is too much for Carlo Ancelotti to rely on three players to fire him to success, and there has to be serious backing once again this summer.
With the likes of Theo Walcott and Bolasie leaving, that spares wages that can be used on one or even two more attacking options.
This is desperately needed, and Bolasie has been contracted at Goodison Park for far too long with no end product; it is time for change.
