Alan Myers responds as Everton boss Ancelotti is linked with Real Madrid return
Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers is yet to hear anything about Carlo Ancelotti potentially leaving Everton to return to Real Madrid.
According to Spanish news outlet La Larguero, Real made contact about re-hiring Ancelotti four days ago and a source close to the La Liga club is confident a deal can be agreed.
However, Myers is unaware of any potential movement as he responded to a fan on Twitter on Monday night.
“Not heard anything about it, to be honest,” said the journalist via his personal Twitter account.

We know what the Spanish press can be like and when Real Madrid, of all clubs, are in the hunt for a new manager then all sorts of things are going to be reported.
It remains to be seen if there’s any truth in La Larguero’s report but if Myers hasn’t heard anything from his sources at Goodison Park then we doubt there’s much chance of Ancelotti leaving.
At the end of the day, the Italian still has three years left on his contract at the Merseyside club, who aren’t exactly short of cash thanks to owner Farhad Moshiri.
Ancelotti is as good as we can hope for in terms of the CV of a manager so let’s pray that he doesn’t decide he wants to quit his role at the Old Lady and return to Real Madrid, a club that sacked him in 2015.
Ancelotti showed signs that his project was working at Everton this season.
While we slumped to a ninth-placed finish, we showed real promise at the start of the campaign and when the squad is fully fit, it’s one that can pull off a result against most teams in the Premier League.
We have a lot of deadwood so if that’s cleared out in the summer and young, hungry players are brought in to challenge for spots in the starting line-up, we’re confident a top-six finish could be possible.
