Ancelotti told Moshiri he wanted to quit Everton due to family reasons
Carlo Ancelotti forced his way out of Everton on Tuesday, telling owner Farhad Moshiri he needed to leave Goodison Park due to “family reasons”, according to The Mirror.
Everton have confirmed that Ancelotti has left the club after a dramatic turn of events on Tuesday.
He’s since been re-hired by Real Madrid, who have turned to the Italian to replace Zinedine Zidane.
However, The Mirror claims that Moshiri was told that Ancelotti’s reasoning behind his exit from Merseyside was due to personal issues and the fact that he would be getting a “huge” contract at the Bernabeu.
We’re glad he’s gone now
Ancelotti clearly wasn’t committed to the project at Goodison Park if he was just going to walk away as soon as someone came calling for him.
We’re not deluded – we know that Real Madrid is a massive club with a massive pull.
However, you would like to think there was a bit more loyalty in football these days than there actually is.
Ancelotti has shown none.
Why did he sign a four-and-a-half-year contract when he first arrived at the Old Lady if he was always going to accept the first decent job offer that came his way?
It might explain why we played so poorly in the second half of the season if we had a manager at the helm who wasn’t 100 per cent applied to the job in hand.
We’re on the hunt for yet another new manager now under Moshiri’s ownership.
This one isn’t his fault but he and Bill Kenwright need to get the next decision spot on and hopefully they’ll hire someone with a bit more of a commitment towards the Toffees.
In other Everton news, the Blues are readying a swoop to hire this ex-Premier League manager.
