Kevin Campbell: Ellis Simms likely to leave Everton again after Sky Sports hint
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has backed Ellis Simms to leave Everton on loan once again over the summer window after his success at Blackpool.
After the Tangerines sealed promotion to the Championship last week, the young striker admitted that he would likely be away from Goodison Park next season.
Campbell believes that is the right decision, with the new manager likely not wanting to rely on an untested player in the Premier League at this moment in time.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “I think they’ll have another look at him, for sure.
“Will he be involved? I don’t know. It’s a difficult one because young players, they don’t have experience at that level, but he has proven that he could score goals, but maybe we’ll rely on more experience.
“When a new manager comes in, I don’t think he’ll be relying on a 19-year-old, so maybe he’s going to have to have more opportunities somewhere else.”

Expected.
It will all depend on how the new manager approaches the transfer window, but we expect this loan move to go through with no arguments.
There could be the last chance saloon for Simms, who may be brought onto the bench if we once again struggle for competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison.
That shouldn’t be the case, and it was one of the main reasons we failed last season.
Everton’s squad depth under Carlo Ancelotti was shocking, and that needs to change if we want to qualify for Europe next season.
Simms may not be the answer right now, but he is certainly proving he could be the long-term solution to many of our problems down the line.
