Everton keen on Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic
Everton are interested in signing Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic, according to The Athletic.
The Austrian international is attracting plenty of interest from the Premier League after an incredible Bundesliga campaign, with Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United also keen [The Athletic]. However, the Magpies “simply cannot afford him”.
Stuttgart could be forced to sell their most valuable asset in order to balance the books, and that would give Everton and co an advantage during negotiations.
Great striking option
The 6ft 7in hitman ended the campaign with 16 Bundesliga goals and five assists in 33 games, and we could do with such a giant in our attack.
Borussia Dortmund view Kalajdzic as a potential Erling Haaland replacement, and that is not a bad compliment [The Athletic].
He will be looking to impress at the European Championship with his country, and Everton and a host of other clubs will be looking to run the rule over him.
Our next manager will have the final say on any move, but potentially having the tallest man in the Bundesliga leading our line is an exciting prospect.
Unsurprisingly, Kalajdzic scored most of his goals via headers, and having such unrivalled aerial advantage would be a massive attacking weapon.
Given the brilliant crossing abilities of Lucas Digne and Gylfi Sigurdsson, most teams will dread playing against Everton with the Austrian beanpole and Dominic Calvert-Lewin upfront.
