Jim White makes Everton-Moshiri suggestion after Crystal Palace fail to hire Nuno

Jim White has suggested that Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri might be boosted in his bid to hire Nuno Espirito Santo as the next manager at Goodison Park.

On Wednesday morning, the Daily Mail reported that Crystal Palace had ended their pursuit of the former Wolves manager after he made a series of new demands that the London club couldn’t meet.

As reported by Football Insider, Moshiri has already spoken to Nuno’s agent Jorge Mendes about him potentially replacing Carlo Ancelotti in the Goodison hot seat.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT host White has previously said on talkSPORT that he has a good relationship with Moshiri and in light of the news Nuno’s Palace move has broken down, he suggested whether that could be good news for the Blues chief.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Wednesday morning [10:11am], White spoke to journalist Alex Crook saying: “What do you think?

“Your hunch is that Everton and Farhad might make their move for Nuno now that he’s freed up again?

Crook replied: “Yeah, absolutely. He does want to continue his Premier League career.”

Nuno to Everton back on?

It seems like that could be the case, doesn’t it?

On Tuesday night, it was being widely reported that Nuno was on the verge of being appointed as Roy Hodgson’s successor at Selhurst Park but all of that has been thrown up in the air now thanks to the update on Wednesday morning.

Nuno’s demands are unachievable for Palace but have those demands changed due to Everton? He was, after all, in talks with the Eagles before Ancelotti quit Merseyside to return to Real Madrid.

If you were Nuno, which club would you rather manage?

The smallest Premier League club in London that regularly fights against relegation and is in need of a major overhaul of the squad this summer? Or would you move to a team with a rich history, a rich owner and a squad of players who should be qualifying for Europe?

It’s a no-brainer and Nuno must know that, which may be why he’s put himself beyond Palace’s reach with these demands.

If Moshiri wants Nuno, he should get him. But he cannot ignore Marcel Brands and Bill Kenwright either.

All three must be on board for this to work.
