Everton in touch with agent of £30m-rated Joaquin Correa

Everton and Arsenal have reportedly been in contact with the agent of Lazio winger Joaquin in a bid to secure his client’s services this summer.

According to Italian outlet Solo La Lazio, the Premier League duo will be expected to fight hard to sign Correa as new manager Maurizio Sarri is an admirer.

However, that’s not stopped them from opening talks with his agent, and should the deal be struck he would be happy to leave the club.

The report states that Lazio value the player at at least £30 million, and are unwilling to part ways with him for anything lesser than that.

Big move

There is a very good argument to be made for signing a player of Correa’s calibre, who undoubtedly would add a different dimension to our attack.

That said, £30 million may be a tad steep, and we may look for cheaper options, especially ones that have been proven in the Premier League.

However, should we sign him, there’s every reason for Everton fans to be excited about him.

His blistering pace coupled and low centre of gravity, make him an ideal wide goal-scoring player. He’s bagged 11 goals and six assists in all competitions this past season.

He’s got the know-how to get himself into the penalty area – showing just how well-rounded a forward he is.

His career trajectory has shown drastic signs of improvement and he’s now ready to take the next step. So, if the hierarchy would want to wait a season to sign him, they wouldn’t get him at the price he’s available at this summer.

There are an interesting couple of months ahead and either way this would be a good move for Everton.
