View: Diego Rossi available for only £10m – Everton must sign him

According to The Daily Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are both interested in signing Uruguayan forward Diego Rossi this summer.

Currently plying his trade in the United States of America, playing for MLS outfit Los Angeles FC, the 23-year-old has already started to show signs of promise and it looks like he’s ready to take the next step in his career.

He recently won the MLS Golden Boot as top scorer and the Young Player of the Year. For only £10 million, he is one of the best value-for-money strikers likely to be available this summer.

Everton

Having signed for LAFC in 2018, the Uruguayan has scored an impressive 56 goals and provided 21 assists in 107 games in all competitions, and has already become one of the league’s best players.

As is the case with most promising players in the MLS, Rossi could be swooped up by European clubs, and Goodison Park could be a welcome landing spot this summer.

Sign him up, Brands

Once Everton’s managerial selection is complete, Marcel Brands can focus on getting players in this summer that would fit the mould for the new manager.

Currently, we have been linked with a number of players, many of whom are unrealistic or out of our price range.

Rossi fits perfectly into our price range. If anything, he’s slightly undervalued and we have to capitalise on the opportunity to sign him this summer.

Everton

There’s a very good chance that he has another cracking season and his value goes up two or threefold, given the interest in his services.

We’ve got a relatively good first eleven in terms of our attacking exploits, but we lack the depth to compete with the Premier League’s big six.

Signing a player like Rossi could go a long way in solving that problem. We need to act fast as Tottenham could also be hot on the player’s heels in the next few weeks.
