Alan Myers: Rafa Benitez has not been offered Everton job
Everton have not offered their vacant manager role to Rafa Benitez, according to Alan Myers.
It had been reported by talkSPORT and Jim White that the job had been offered, and the Spaniard was set to be announced.
The Toffees journalist has shared the major update which was met with sheer delight from many fans in the comments.

Myers shared the major update on his personal Twitter account this evening but did admit that talks had been held.
“My understanding is that Rafa Benitez has NOT been offered the Everton job at this point,” he wrote.
“Talks however have taken place.”
Another twist.
So, just as it looked as though this long-winded manager hunt had come to an end, it takes another turn in Merseyside.
One thing we can say is that Benitez is surely the leading candidate now, with Nuno Espirito Santo not even mentioned.
It is hard to imagine who could be offered the job, with Farhad Moshiri, Bill Kenwright and the board all appearing to have different favourites.
Benitez is the latest to have talks, so it wouldn’t surprise us if other managers were set to be invited to Goodison Park as potential successors to Carlo Ancelotti.
Guillem Balague has labelled the Spaniard as the “perfect” choice, but this isn’t as straight-forward as many thought a couple of hours ago.
Expect more drama this week, this is far from over.
