Kevin Campbell: Nuno will want Duncan Ferguson at Everton if appointed

We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…

Kevin Campbell has hit back at suggestions that Duncan Ferguson could leave Everton if Nuno Espirito Santo is appointed.

Reports surfaced that the Toffees legend could be sent packing his bags from Goodison Park should the Portuguese gaffer finally come in.

Campbell admitted that Ferguson is a valuable person around the dressing room, and still has a massive role to play.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “I think Nuno would want to keep big Dunc.

“He’s a valuable person in the dressing room, a valuable person around the club. I think he’d want to keep him on the backroom staff.”

Legend.

Coming into a new club, Nuno would bring his huge backroom team along with him should this deal finally be announced.

Ferguson knows what it takes to succeed at Goodison Park, knows the players, and bleeds blue, everything we need at the club.

The big role is probably too much for Big Dunc, who has stepped in when needed at times, but we need someone to take us to Europe, not to help us survive.

It wouldn’t be the same if Ferguson was to leave Goodison Park, and his passion and know-how matched with Nuno’s personality could be a winning formula – bring it on.
