Kevin Campbell thrilled by Jordan Pickford for England v Scotland – Exclusive
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell was left thrilled by Everton keeper Jordan Pickford for England against Scotland.
The Three Lions disappointed in the 0-0 draw at Wembley, and the Toffees stopper was one of the only ones to leave with praise.
Campbell was impressed with his confidence, especially after his save from Stephen O’Donnell’s volley in the first half.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “He dealt with it really well.
“His kicking was pretty good, his managing of the box too. His communication was pretty good.
“He’s the man in charge, he feels comfortable there and he showed it.”

Star.
It was naive to think that it would be a simple win for England last night, and given that Pickford was our standout man, there was luck involved.
The stopper was the only one who could leave with his head held high from Wembley and much comes down to Gareth Southgate’s tactics.
Something needs to change outfield on Tuesday against the Czech Republic, but one thing for sure, Pickford must keep that same level of confidence.
This is only good news for the Toffees, who will be praying for the keeper to return to Merseyside with the exact same level of performance next season in the Premier League – fingers crossed.
