Alan Myers doubts Everton want Frank Lampard as next manager
Everton are unlikely to be considering Frank Lampard as their next manager, according to Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers.
In the immediate aftermath of Carlo Ancelotti’s exit at the start of June, The Mirror reported that the former Chelsea manager and midfielder was in the running to succeed the now-Real Madrid boss.
On Tuesday night, a Twitter user asked Myers whether Lampard is in contention to be the next Toffees boss.
However, the Sky Sports journalist replied on his personal Twitter account by saying: “I doubt it.”
Too big a job for Frank
Lampard did a great job at Derby in his first season there and in fairness, he did quite well at Chelsea too considering they couldn’t sign any new players.
Last season, it all fell apart a bit for the ex-England midfielder but he still laid the foundations for a team that won the Champions League title, albeit under a different manager.
Lampard has shown he’s not a bad manager but we don’t think Everton should even come close to considering him.

The job at Goodison Park is way too big for him because the squad needs a massive rebuild in time for next season.
It seems as though Rafa Benitez is the most likely man to replace Ancelotti but it’s all gone quiet on that front.
Could that mean the board is having reservations about hiring the Spaniard? Evertonians have made it clear that the majority of them don’t want the ex-Liverpool boss.
We just hope this all ends soon because players will be back for pre-season training soon and we’re already missing out on time where players could be signed or sold.
