Kevin Campbell: No problem in Everton appointing Rafa Benitez
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has insisted that there should be no problem with Everton appointing Rafa Benitez this week.
The Spaniard looks set to be appointed at Goodison Park before the end of the week, with pre-season set to start soon.
Campbell believes that Benitez’ experience should come first, and there is no one with more in the bank than him.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “Benitez is a damn-good manager.
“The fact that he’s been considered, there is not really anybody available that is more experienced than him.
“Obviously the biggest sticking point is that he’s managed Liverpool, but I don’t think that’s a problem.
“Players have done it, the fact of the matter is that Everton needs someone in charge with experience and who can steer the club properly.
“He’s number one in the running.”

Experience.
As Campbell said, experience is everything we need right now at the helm of the club, and Benitez brings that.
He has won nearly everything there is to win in the game, and the Toffees are crying out for some success at Goodison Park.
After weeks and weeks of different managers becoming the favourites, it looks as though we have finally found our man, although if it changed, we wouldn’t be surprised.
Benitez is the man out front, and once it is announced, there will be a sigh of relief, although the reaction should tell a huge story.
Give it time.
