Farhad Moshiri convinced Rafa Benitez is right man despite backlash – BBC

Farhad Moshiri is convinced Rafa Benitez is the right man to lead Everton forward despite major backlash from fans this week.

The Toffees owner is said to favour the determination of the Spaniard, who looks set to be announced this week.

The BBC has shared the update from Moshiri, who hasn’t exactly agreed with the likes of Marcel Brands and Bill Kenwright throughout this process.

Disgusting banners were left outside Goodison Park this week, as Benitez became the front runner for the job.

It has gone even further now, with this report claiming it is a certainty that the former Liverpool man will take charge.

Alan Myers has shared that the deal should be announced on either Monday or Tuesday, with pre-season set to start at the end of the week.

It will spark a big bombshell, but one that Benitez won’t be used too given his negative reception at Chelsea all those years ago.

Convinced.

Moshiri will have to more than convince the fans that this is the right appointment because if it goes wrong, there will be hell to pay.

The owner will surely have been watching the reaction closely, but it appears as though it has done nothing to deter him.

It was suggested earlier that he was worried by what he was watching, so it has been a quick switch in thoughts at Goodison Park.

Benitez has been there and done it, and the only way to make this move make sense to those against it would be to win silverware.

That is easier said than done, and time will surely tell.
