Simon Jordan warns Everton owner Farhad Moshiri over Rafa Benitez
Simon Jordan has issued a big warning to Farhad Moshiri over the appointment of Rafa Benitez as the new Everton manager.
Everton confirmed the appointment of the Spaniard as Carlo Ancelotti’s successor on Wednesday afternoon, but the move was one expected for some time now.
Speaking earlier in the day on talkSPORT [11:38, 30/06/21], former Crystal Palace owner and chairman Jordan warned Blues owner Moshiri to expect fall-outs with Benitez if events start to go awry.

Jordan said: “For Farhad Moshiri, mate, you’ve got fun and games with this guy because everywhere he goes, he falls out with everybody.
“He fell out with the owners of Liverpool, he fell out with the owners at Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Napoli, Newcastle United.
‘This guy falls out with people.”
He added: “Rafa Benitez, if he doesn’t get precisely what he wants from Moshiri, will do what Benitez does, and fall out with the owner, and I don’t like it.”

Fighting history
Jordan’s right – it’s been well-documented that Benitez has had his fair share of bust-ups with his bosses over the years.
Benitez will argue he’s had good reason for some of them. At Liverpool, for example, American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett pulled the rug out from underneath him and handicapped him in the transfer market, failing to follow up on promises they made.
Then there are the likes of La Liga giants Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Napoli and Newcastle United, all of whom have had outspoken owners or issues behind the scenes.
But can a manager really get that unlucky throughout his career? Blues fans will know all too well how he comes across in the media with his spiky retorts to journalists.
It feels like this is a complete change in approach from the personable Ancelotti who appeared less likely to ‘rock the boat’.
But maybe that’s what we need, someone to shake things up and instil a hardline approach after a dismal end to the season where players appeared to down tools.
