Kevin Campbell: Everton fans leaving banners deserve lifetime bans

We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…

Kevin Campbell has called on Everton to hand out lifetime bans to any fans found guilty of leaving banners for Rafa Benitez.

The Spaniard was announced as the new boss on Wednesday, but offensive banners that read “we know where you live” were left near his house.

Campbell labelled that picture as “absolutely disgusting” and insisted that those fans should never be allowed near Goodison Park.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “It’s disgraceful.

“Absolutely disgusting. Whatever you think about the manager, you keep it away from his family, I just thought that was so low and classless.

“I know people are upset, but you can’t do that to people. It’s wrong. 100% for lifetime bans, should be nowhere near the stadium.”

Grow up.

Some things are bigger than football, and leaving banners near the house of Benitez where his wife and kids live.

The Spaniard will be out to prove everyone wrong, those fans who don’t believe in him, and those from Liverpool who are left crying.

Time will tell what happens, but the first test will be to work some magic in the transfer window and strengthen the squad.

After that, he needs to deliver success on the pitch and potentially silverware, how stupid would those placing those banners feel then?

This is despicable, and lifetime bans are the only answer.
