Everton not in for Ben White this summer – Phil Kirkbride
Everton are not interested in signing Brighton defender Ben White this summer, according to Phil Kirkbride.
Reports from the Daily Mail insisted that the Toffees were ready to offer £50million to beat Arsenal to his signature.
The Liverpool Echo’s writer for Everton appears to have set things straight after links started hotting up this week.

Rafa Benitez will be looking to strengthen his squad, but one fan did question this link claiming that central defence shouldn’t be a priority given the numerous options already there.
Kirkbride responded to that with news that he had been told late on Friday night, supposedly from contacts within the club.
“We were told, last night, it is not true,” he simply wrote.

Not needed.
Although a great talent, we have more than enough in that area, as well as our very own superstar talent in Ben Godfrey.
One good thing about these reports linking us with a move for White, is the money that we were reportedly ready to spend.
£50million on one player would make us believe that there is easily double that in the budget, and it could get higher should big earners such as James Rodriguez leave.
That can be used on better areas, such as right-back and in the final third, where depth is desperately needed.
Benitez will be analysing his options deeply over the coming weeks as pre-season gets underway, and we expect to see some movement on the transfer front very shortly.
Exciting times ahead, just not with White.
