Kevin Campbell reacts as Josh King slams Carlo Ancelotti treatment
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell believes Everton have received a bonus by Josh King’s contract running out this summer.
The Norwegian international left the club after not getting much of a chance to shine under Carlo Ancelotti since January.
King has since come out and slammed the Italian, something that Campbell believes capped a disappointing spell for him.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “He didn’t really get a chance.
“I can’t see anything happening, he’s a free agent. That may be a bonus sale because Ancelotti has gone.
“It’s disappointing for him because he didn’t really get a chance to show what he could do.”

Goodbye.
King may have seemed like a good option on paper when first arriving, but he never caught the eye in cameo appearances.
Ancelotti may not have given him huge chances, but we have seen players in the past come off the bench and earn starting spots.
Maybe the Norweigian talent should concentrate on his own performances in training and on matchday, rather than dishing out the blame.
The Toffees and Rafa Benitez now have the money from his wages to spend, and Marcel Brands will be wary of using it wisely this time around.
King wasn’t good enough to push aside for Europe and push Dominic Calvert-Lewin further, we need someone with more determination for that.
Strength in depth is needed in the final third this summer, and it may be a completely different path Brands and Benitez take after this failure.
