Allan happy at Everton amid reports linking him with summer exit

Everton midfielder Allan has told Italian journalist Valter De Maggio that he has no plans to leave Goodison Park this summer, according to Area Napoli.

The Brazilian veteran reunited with Carlo Ancelotti at the Merseyside club last summer, penning a deal until the summer of 2023.

With the Italian manager gone, reports have been emerging that Allan could be following him to Real Madrid in the coming weeks, but it appears that would not be happening.

“I can confess that I had the opportunity to speak with Allan,” De Maggio revealed on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli (via Area Napoli).

“I asked him about his future also because rumours that they would like him at Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid.

“He has remained on very good terms with the Reggiolo coach. Allan has revealed to me that his club will be Everton also because he is very happy there.”

Massive news

Allan, 30, featured in 24 Premier League games last season, with injuries limiting his appearances for the Toffees.

Nevertheless, he proved to be a brilliant addition to our midfield and we cannot afford to lose him.

New Everton manager Rafa Benitez would love such a player in his team given his combativeness, and both can finally work together after missing the chance to at Napoli.

The Toffees boss left the Serie A club in the summer of 2015, with the midfielder joining the club shortly after.

While some squad changes are expected, holding on to Allan would do us a lot of good.

He was crucial in providing the perfect protection for our defence on a couple of occasions last term, and we need him next season in our top-six bid.

Everton are currently well-stocked in the middle of the park, with Jean-Philippe Gbamin set to join Allan, Andre Gomes, Tom Davies and Abdoulaye Doucoure having recovered from his injury hell, and we cannot wait to see Benitez get the best out of them.
