Everton should be doing everything in their power to sign Swiss star Haris Seferovic
Correio de Manha have recently claimed that Everton are interested in signing Switzerland and Benfica striker Haris Seferovic.
They reported on June 30 that the Toffees have ‘made contact’ with the Portuguese side over the 29-year-old who has seen his price tag rocket up to £26m after an impressive Euro 2020 campaign.
However, Seferovic is a player that Everton should be bringing to Goodison Park despite his increased price tag.

The 29-year-old was incredible for his country when they needed him against Turkey and then against France.
In the match against Les Bleus, Seferovic scored two bullet headers to make it three goals for the tournament and 24 overall for Switzerland.
Now, the Toffees have Dominic Calvert-Lewin as their first-choice striker and Rafael Benitez’s preferred formation is likely to require only one striker [The Athletic].
But the Toffees have ambitions to break into the European spots and to do that, you would think that they would need more than one good striker, and that is where Seferovic fits in [Liverpool Echo].
During the 2018/19 season, he was the top goalscorer in the Portuguese top flight, and in the 2020/21 campaign, he scored 22 goals.

His goalscoring record speaks for itself, and former Benfica star-turned pundit Joao Alves said that Seferovic reminds him of Argentine legend Diego Maradona, which is high praise indeed [RTP3 via Bancada].
It remains to be seen what becomes of the Toffees’ interest in Seferovic, but even though his price tag is steep, they should be all over this deal to make it a reality.
Benitez is going to need to improve the squad if Everton are to push on this season, and the ideal signing to help them do that could be Seferovic – his presence might just inspire Calvert-Lewin to reach new heights.
Surely this is a deal that makes total sense and is something the Toffees have to complete before the end of the transfer window.
