Kevin Campbell has been blown away by Everton stopper Jordan Pickford for England at the EUROs this summer.
The keeper has already won the Golden Glove award, with his five clean-sheets not able to be caught by anyone.
Campbell believes Pickford has been sensational, and continues to prove everyone wrong ahead of this evening’s semi-final with Denmark.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “I think Pickford has been sensational.
“The past tends to haunt you sometimes, and in his past, he has made mistakes, not only that, he’s been a decisive character.
“He’s been superb, there’s a lot of people who wouldn’t have had him in goal in this team, but he’s been there and he’s breaking records.”
Sensational.
Pickford has been out of this world and is yet to concede a goal.
Yes, the Three Lions defence has been impenetrable, but the keeper has made some vital saves, especially against Germany.
It would be a great summer should the likes of Pickford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin help bring football home.
Of course, the stopper is playing a much bigger role, and he is finally getting the recognition he deserves.
Being a goalkeeper, one mistake usually leads to a goal so it is the biggest pressure position – something Pickford has learned to live with.
Everyone is now turning back on their words, and we just hope this is the performance level he can bring to the Premier League next season.
