Richarlison turmoil could still benefit Everton – Kevin Campbell

We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…

Kevin Campbell has insisted that Richarlison leaving Everton for the Olympics could turn into a positive.

The Brazilian international recently shared that he had to fight to get his way, and could miss the start of next season as a result.

Campbell believes that the Toffees can win without him and that Richarlison could return to a vibrant Finch Farm under Rafa Benitez.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “I just think the stances of some teams will be different.

“Everton might not want to stand in his way because he is adamant he wants to play, so if he does, the club will miss him.

“They have proven they can win without him, there will be players trying to impress the new manager too.

“Rciharlison may come back to a vibrant Everton and that would be good.”

Everton

Really?

We don’t think anyone is bigger than the club, and the player getting his own way surely can’t be positive.

Other players will see this reaction and know if they throw a tantrum, they will eventually get what they want – what is this is used in the transfer window or for a new contract?

If Richarlison misses the start of the Premier League, that would simply be embarrassing, Olympics or not.

Something will need to be done if we continue to see these outbreaks from Richarlison, and that is the job of Benitez.

The Spaniard needs to get close to players such as this, and really start to get the best out of them, it is critical to his success.
