Everton are on the cusp of completing the summer signing of Demarai Gray, per Sky Sports News editor Alan Myers.
The Times journalist Paul Joyce, via his personal Twitter account, said on Sunday evening that the Merseyside outfit are close to signing Gray for a £1.5million fee from Bayer Leverkusen.
Having moved to Germany from Leicester only a few months ago, the 25-year-old is now on the verge of returning to England and is expected to join Everton in the coming days.
The Toffees have lacked depth out wide and could do with Gray’s services. He’s proven to be reliable, albeit inconsistent on occasion for the Foxes, and Rafa Benitez will be hoping to see a positive reaction from him on Merseyside.
Despite the fact that he failed to set the world alight in his final few months at the King Power Stadium, Everton fans on Facebook were delighted with the imminent arrival of the Englishman.
Here’s what they said:

While Gray would not have been our first choice transfer target, for such a minuscule transfer fee, we will take him.
He will certainly offer a good backup to our attackers and his ability to play on both wings will come in handy toward the business end of the campaign.
Gray’s a direct runner and is a very good dribbler. He is also a tireless worker off the ball and puts in a shift every time he steps on to the pitch.
For only £1.5million, he doesn’t come with the added pressure of a heavy price tag and would be given some time to gel with the squad and get used to our system.
