Bernard shares cryptic Instagram post after Everton exit
Bernard has shared a cryptic post on Instagram after Sharjah FC announced his signing and confirmed his Everton exit.
According to The Athletic journalist Patrick Boyland, Bernard was in talks with a number of clubs, including Sharjah, and he eventually ended up joining the UAE outfit with Demarai Gray moving to Goodison Park as his replacement.
While Sharjah confirmed the transfer, via their Twitter handle, Everton are yet to make an official announcement about the 28-year-old.
After the announcement, Bernard took to Instagram to bid farewell to Everton before sharing a cryptic message in a lengthy caption.
Part of it read, “Unfortunately you who support me and not those who appear here to spread the words of hate DON’T KNOW HALF of what happens behind the scenes.
“I wanted to be more clear but unfortunately TODAY I can’t, the message I leave today is of gratitude and you will always be special.”
Strange
Wonder what behind the scenes activity he’s talking about as there wasn’t anything spoken about him falling out with anyone at the club.
All the reports surrounding his exit hinted at it being an amicable departure as neither party was benefiting from keeping the Brazilian at the club.
He struggled for game time and failed to establish himself as a regular under any manager he worked with.
Also, with there being an influx of wide attackers at the club, Bernard would’ve fallen further down in the pecking order and he’s still got a few years left in his tank as he’s on the right side of 30.

His contract was due to expire at the end of next season anyway, so it’s better that the club cashed in on him this summer.
The club have received only £860,000 as compensation, according to a report in Goal, which in less than what we would’ve liked for him.
