Atletico Madrid join race to sign Everton winger Richarlison this summer

Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Everton attacking midfielder Richarlison this summer, according to El Gol Digital.

The Brazil international bagged a hat-trick against Germany at the Olympic Games on Friday, and the Spanish website claims that has alerted the La Liga champions.

Atletico are keen to bolster their attack this summer ahead of next season’s title defence after pipping Real Madrid and Barcelona to the prize last term, and are keen on the 24-year-old Toffees ace.

Not happening!

Richarlison made history at Tokyo 2020, becoming the first-ever Premier League player to hit a treble at the games, and it is only normal for clubs to be attracted to him.

Scouts are running the rule over players at the Olympics, and a first-half hat-trick would definitely catch everyone’s eyes.

The Brazilian has also been linked with reuniting with Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, but we do not see him leaving Goodison Park this summer.

Everton are counting on him for the new campaign and only decided to grant his wishes to play at the Olympics after the Copa America to please him.

Manager Rafa Benitez does not want to start his time in the Toffees dugout with a disgruntled player, and with the club deciding to allow him to go to two international tournaments, Richarlison is expected to repay them with his stay.

Nevertheless, nothing is guaranteed in football, and we cannot deny that the Brazilian does not see his future at Goodison Park.

Should Atletico really come calling, he could be tempted to leave, with the chance to play in the Champions League and challenge for the La Liga title available at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Brazil are one of the favourites to pick up Olympic gold in the football games, and more suitors are likely to emerge should the Everton ace ends the tournament on a very impressive note.
