English club want to sign Ellis Simms, Toffees in talks with his reps – report
Everton are reportedly in talks with the representatives of youngster Ellis Simms over signing a new deal at Goodison Park this summer.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the hierarchy want him to commit his future to the club and put pen to paper to a new contract as his current one expires next season.
It’s also reported that Blackpool, the club where he spent the second-half of last season on loan, are keen on getting him on a one-year deal for next season as well.

Hope he renews
Going out on loan for players on the fringes, especially when they’re under the age of 23, is essential for their development.
He thrived at Blackpool after moving there in the January window and it would be nice if he joins again next season as he’s already impressed the staff and others in the dressing room at Bloomfield Road.

However, for him to leave on loan, he will have to sign an extension or else the club would be forced to sell him permanently this summer.

Given the fact we’ve opened talks with him to extend, it’s believed that we want him to stay for the foreseeable future and are possibly looking to loan him out.
His injury could hamper his move away from Goodison Park and he may be forced to play for the U-23s next season.
Last season, the 20-year-old scored on 10 occasions to help the Tangerines reach the League One play-off final.
He could not play that game as he suffered a serious groin injury, but his side managed to beat Lincoln 2-1 and secure a spot in the Championship next season.
Simms would learn a great deal from playing in England’s second tier, and hopefully, in a few years is ready to become a first-team player for the senior side.
