Everton star James Rodriguez targeted by a few Champions League teams
Everton star James Rodriguez’s most likely destination is AC Milan, while his old club FC Porto are also keen on signing the Colombian, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
The Colombian is free to leave to either of those clubs, with superagent Jorge Mendes also offering the playmaker to Atletico Madrid and Napoli.
Rodriguez was linked with a move to AC Milan earlier in the transfer window, but now that he has been told to leave Goodison Park, perhaps this move will start to pick up pace.
Rodriguez to Milan?
Porto, Milan, and Atletico are all in the Champions League this season, so he should be playing in UEFA’s premier competition no matter where he ends up.
The question is, who is willing to take on the Colombian’s incredible wages of over £200,000 per week? There have been suggestions that he would be willing to take a pay cut, and for any of these teams to have any interest in signing him, you would have to think that he will need to reduce his wage demands [SPORT].
The 30-year-old, while still a brilliant player, is not at the peak of his powers anymore, and clubs are still trying to recover financially from the pandemic.
When you see how much Rodriguez is on at Goodison Park, it is no wonder that the Toffees want to get rid of him; you just have to hope one of these clubs step forward and takes him from Everton.
In other Everton news, it appears as if the club have withdrawn from the race to sign one EURO 2020 sensation.
