Kevin Campbell reacts to Marvellous Nakamba-Everton links
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has insisted that Aston Villa can afford to lose Marvellous Nakamba with Everton reportedly interested.
The Daily Mail has suggested that the Toffees may test the resolve of their rivals for the 27-year-old throughout the summer.
Campbell believes that Villa need to upgrade the squad, and selling players such as Nakamba may allow that to happen.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “Would it be difficult? I don’t know as much as we might think.
“I still think Aston Villa are going to have to upgrade certain spots, and he hasn’t played a lot there.
“Maybe it is one they can afford to change.”
Bolster.
Nakamba really caught the eye towards the end of last season whilst Douglas Luiz was sidelined at Villa Park.
It is uncertain whether or not he would be a guaranteed starter under Rafa Benitez, who will want more legs alongside Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure.
Reinforcements in the final third may be more important at this stage, but Marcel Brands will have his eyes on numerous positions.
If Nakamba becomes available at a cheap price, Brands and the Toffees may be able to take advantage, but they would have to move quickly.
Benitez has improved his squad depth already, and some sales may be needed if he wants to splash the cash this month.
