Everton man Demarai Gray praised in 4-0 defeat to Manchester United
Everton man Demarai Gray has earned praise from the Liverpool Echo during the Toffees’ 4-0 defeat to Manchester United in pre-season.
The Red Devils comfortably dispatched the Toffees at Old Trafford, but Everton’s new signing stood out and earned some praise from journalist Elliott Bretland. In the report, the 25-year-old was described as “relentless” while he was also praised for his “expertly” timed and angled runs.
The former Leicester City man was also described as a “threat” and was one positive from an otherwise grim afternoon for Rafael Benitez’s side.

Gray a bright spark!
Everton signed the former Birmingham City winger from Bayer Leverkusen this summer for a reported £1.7million fee [BBC].
He has plenty of Premier League experience but has perhaps failed to deliver consistent end product in his time playing in England’s top flight.
Hopefully, this move to Goodison Park will see him add more goals and assists to his game, and this was a lively performance from Gray.

The winger was played more centrally and looked to buzz around and cause problems for the Manchester United defence, so he is already clearly making an impression with the Toffees.
Gray has always had the potential, but he never quite lived up to the hype at the King Power Stadium. Hopefully, he can live up to that hype at Goodison, and he has made a good start to life under Benitez [the Mirror].
We can’t wait to see what he delivers in the opening game against Southampton in just six days.
