Everton star Richarlison sounds South America warning after Brazil success
Everton star Richarlison appears to have called out the entire CONMEBOL nations after Brazil’s Olympic Games success on Saturday.
The 24-year-old played a pivotal role in their triumph, scoring five goals in the tournament en route to becoming the top goalscorer in the competition.
Richarlison wrote, “Rival wanted in South America”, accompanied by a Brazil flag, on his personal Twitter profile after the major victory on Saturday.
Argentina alarm
Richarlison might have namechecked the whole of South America, but reading between the lines, it’s probably a warning to old foes Argentina.
Lionel Messi and co defeated Richarlison and Brazil during an ill-tempered Copa America final in July, and that was likely a sore one for the Selecao to take.
But they’ve responded in excellent fashion, though their Olympic team is made up mainly of under-23 stars due to competition rules.
Nevertheless, an Olympic gold medal is still hugely prestigious and is considered to be of even more importance in South America as opposed to, say, the UK, who did not even enter a team for the men’s football tournament.

Richarlison’s clearly still in a fiery mood despite playing two tough tournaments this summer.
Premier League action starts back up again next week but we’re unlikely to see Richarlison in action for the Blues as rest is an urgent necessity.
It remains to be seen how long he will be absent for but if he retains this level of hunger throughout the season in preparation for next year’s World Cup, Everton fans could see Richarlison reach another level at Goodison Park.
In other Everton news, the Blues want to sign this 2020/21 European title winner who was at Real Madrid under Rafa Benitez.
