Wes Brown blown away by Demarai Gray despite heavy defeat v Man United
Everton new signing Demarai Gray impressed MUTV pundit Wes Brown despite Manchester United winning the friendly comfortably.
The Toffees ended their pre-season with a 4-0 defeat at Old Trafford and a number of players put in sub-par performances on the day.
However, one player who put in an impressive showing was new signing Gray, and he was praised for it in the post-match show on MUTV on Saturday.

The former Manchester United defender said in the post-match show, “Demarai Gray is a very skilful attacking player and he showed that today. He gets at people, likes to take them on.
“It was a good deal too. Interesting to see how he does.”
Positive early signs
When we saw that Gray was closing in on a move to Goodison Park, it’s fair to see only a minority of our fanbase was excited about the prospect of bringing the former Leicester attacker to the club this summer.
After the quality of players we’ve signed over the last two summers, Gray, who is still our biggest signing of the window in terms of finances, is not one who strengthens our playing eleven.

It’s clear that the plan was to bring him in as a backup option and ensure he fights for his place in the first team, but we would have liked to have signed a quality attacker by now, especially given the uncertainty surrounding James Rodriguez’s future.
However, Gray has been impressive thus far, and he’s only 25, so could improve a great deal in the future and hopefully, Rafa Benitez can bring out a tune in him.
We lacked depth in our wide positions last season and with his signing along with the arrival of Andros Townsend we look pretty heavy in that department which is beneficial going into the new season.
