Everton new stadium to offer £1billion impetus to local economy

Everton have now officially broken ground on the project of building a new stadium, according to The Liverpool Echo.

The club’s dreams to build a new stadium to replace Goodison Park have finally been put into play and it is anticipated to be built in three years.

It is also expected to provide a £1billion impetus to the local economy and help create as many as 15,000 jobs, as stated by the Liverpool City Region team last summer.

Incredible

We’ve known about our new stadium for a while now, but it’s always a special occasion to see work into building finally starting.

There is a special connection to Goodison Park, but it’s a comparatively old stadium, and if we are to scale the ranks and become a big club again, having a state-of-the-art home ground is something that will go a long way.

Players have admitted to moving to clubs based on the facilities they provide in terms of training and matchday experience and this is a step taken in the right direction by the club.

Also, with it pumping up a billion into the local economy and creating thousands of jobs, it may have a major benefit to the entire community on Merseyside.

A world class stadium will certainly increase the appeal of the neighbouring area and we could soon see the streets next to the new stadium flourish.

It’s important that as fans, we create the same sort of matchday atmosphere we did at Goodison Park as that will make the players feel at home and ignore the new playing conditions.
