Everton have made an offer for Andreas Pereira

Everton have made an offer to Manchester United for Andreas Pereira, according to a report from TNT Sports in Brazil.

They claim that the Toffees have offered to take the 25-year-old central midfielder on loan with an option to buy, although they face competition from Flamengo and Fenerbahce.

The report doesn’t state if the bid from Everton has been accepted or rejected yet, but it seems as if the Toffees desperately want a central midfielder.

Pereira to Goodison?

The Brazilian international is free to leave Old Trafford this summer and was sent out on loan to Lazio last season.

However, he has made 45 Premier League appearances and also has a bit of international experience, so he could add something to this Everton side.

He has also been praised in the past for his knack for scoring “fantastic” goals and a bit of goal threat from midfield certainly wouldn’t go amiss [Manchester United’s website].

Rafael Benitez has also been linked with making a move for Sean Longstaff, so it is pretty clear that he wants another central midfielder [The Athletic].

However, is Pereira really going to be the man to take Everton to the next level?

He has some qualities, but the fact he has failed to make regular appearances for the Red Devils in the time he has been at Old Trafford would suggest that he isn’t quite at the top level.

Either way, this could be a deal to keep an eye on.
