Rafa Benitez: Five Everton players in isolation ahead of Southampton game
Rafa Benitez has confirmed five Everton players are isolating ahead of the Southampton game on Saturday.
The Everton manager said that two out the trio of Moise Kean, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Andre Gomes were in isolation, according to Phil Kirkbride of The Liverpool Echo.
He also said that James Rodriguez was in similar conditions and will play no part in Saturday’s game. [BBC]
Struggling to field eleven
We’re extremely short on options and had we not signed Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend, we would’ve had a harder time fielding eleven players who would be eligible to play.
It seems like the two will be starting this game while Richarlison will also be forced into starting despite having such a long summer for his national team.
Benitez knows that has taken the job despite a fanbase that’s not overly impressed with his past comments so he’s going to have to deliver from the word go.

Games against Southampton are ones we should be picking up maximum points from and at least five wins from our first seven games would go a long way in pacifying the fanbase.
That said, we cannot wait for the weekend’s action to unfold.
Once we’re done with Southampton, we’ve got two tricky games in the league against Leeds United and Brighton and we’re going to have to be at our clinical best for both if we are to pick up three points.
The Saints game will give a better idea as to how the team’s been shaping under the new manager.
