Kevin Campbell shares verdict on Alex Iwobi leaving Everton this month
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has insisted that Rafa Benitez may be happy to sanction the Everton exit of Alex Iwobi this month.
The Toffees got their Premier League season off to a win against Southampton yesterday, with the Nigerian getting an assist.
Tuttomercatoweb has reported that Italian side Atalanta are interested, and have enquired over his services already.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “It’s a new manager trying to assess his squad.
“These are the type of things that could happen. Iwobi has been there a few seasons now and might want to try something different.
“I could see that happening.”

Really?
Iwobi could certainly thrive from Benitez taking over at Goodison Park and bringing in some fresh ideas.
The Spaniard played a standard 4-4-2 yesterday, meaning if picked, the Nigerian would play as a winger, not a wing-back as he did at times under Carlo Ancelotti.
We have seen glimpses of his class since his arrival from Arsenal, but we need more consistency to value his place in this squad more.
That isn’t to say getting rid would be smart, though.
It may come down to options, with Benitez needing to sell to make big moves, if Iwobi is the only one who could generate big cash, that may change in the next two weeks.
