Everton-linked Joaquin Correa prefers Inter Milan switch

Everton target Joaquin Correa reportedly prefers staying in Italy and working with Simone Inzaghi at Inter Milan.

According to Italian media outlet Il Messaggero, the Toffees are willing to battle the defending Serie A champions in pursuit of the 27-year-old Lazio attacker and have “increased the pressure” on him.

However, Correa is understood to share a good working relationship with Inzaghi, who left Lazio to move to the San Siro in the summer, and he prefers to be a part of his team for this season.

That said, he has previously admitted that he’s open to playing in the Premier League.

Out of reach?

The report states that the Argentine attacker is valued at £26m and the club will not accept any offer less than that for him.

We’re in dire need of signing a wide player who would walk into our playing eleven and not just add to the depth like Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend.

Correa is the perfect player for Rafa Benitez and would offer something unique to our attack.

However, it seems that he prefers staying in Italy and moving to Inter Milan due to the Inzaghi factor which is understandable, but also a major blow for us.

Inzaghi holds him in very high regard and has previously referred to him as “formidable” [Lazio official website].

The 27-year-old has the knack of getting involved in scoring opportunities, having found the back of the net on 11 occasions and registering six assists in all competitions last season.

He is the kind of player who would adapt quickly to life in a new country, but it will be difficult convincing him to join over Inter Milan.
