Paul Stewart: Dominic Calvert-Lewin will not leave Everton for Spurs
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will not leave Everton to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to ex-Liverpool player Paul Stewart.
Spurs are uncertain about Harry Kane’s future at the club and could look to sign a replacement should the England international part ways before the window shuts.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke suggested on The Football Terrace that the London outfit could look to sign the Everton forward in case Kane leaves.

However, Stewart, a former Premier League player, doubts that Kane would leave in the first place and does not see Calvert-Lewin moving to a club he reckons is of similar stature to Spurs.
He told Football FanCast, “I think it’d be a tough one because I wouldn’t like to be answering this question if I had the chance because Harry wouldn’t be leaving.
“Anything is a step-down. I have to say that first but you’re looking at the likes of maybe Calvert-Lewin, will he leave Everton now for a club that’s not really of a bigger stature, Tottenham.”
Look elsewhere
Spurs are a club in turmoil and Calvert-Lewin is unlikely to consider moving to London, especially with so little time left for the window to shut.
He had an exceptional season with us in 2020/21, and will be looking for more of the same this time around, albeit under a new manager.

Few expected Calvert-Lewin to have the kind of season he did, but his performances saw Gareth Southgate pick him for Euro 2020, where he played second-fiddle to Kane.
He’s already started this campaign well, scoring on the opening weekend, and Rafa Benitez is likely to build his team around the 24-year-old.
Calvert-Lewin is an exceptional player to lead the line for us and also offers an aerial threat which means Benitez could look to ask his full-backs and wide forwards to deliver crosses into the number nine’s stead.
We’ve seen him thrive in these scenarios before and are backing him to have a great season for us again.
