Kevin Campbell reacts to imminent Everton exit for Joao Virginia
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has hailed the loan system as Everton look set to send Joao Virginia to Sporting CP this season.
The Liverpool Echo shared today that the young keeper will complete his move imminently, and there is also a permanent option included.
Campbell believes the loan will make him more of an asset to the club, and the Toffees could lose a very talented player at the end of the season.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “I think that system has got to work with a young talented goalkeeper.
“He will be getting more experience, then he is more of an asset to the club.”

Mistake?
Everton may not regret this one immediately, but it could be one to look back on and regret in years to come.
Virginia isn’t needed immediately by Rafa Benitez after the signing of Asmir Begovic, but the Bosnian certainly isn’t the long-term answer behind Jordan Pickford.
Should he enjoy a brilliant loan spell back in his home country of Portugal, the Toffees will be hoping that they can somehow persuade him to stay.
That is unlikely now, with a permanent option included and likely to be taken should he succeed with Sporting.
