Everton grant Rodriguez representatives permission to speak to other clubs

Everton have granted James Rodriguez’s representatives permission to speak to other clubs in order to seal a move away from Goodison Park, according to the Telegraph.

The newspaper reports that AC Milan and Atletico Madrid have been linked with moves for the 30-year-old playmaker, who is “far from ending his exile” from Rafa Benitez’s starting line-up.

Benitez has said that Rodriguez is in his plans up until August 31.

Get him gone

It cannot be easy to move on a player who’s shown himself to be unprofessional, out of touch, lazy, injury-prone and downright ignorant in his one season as an Everton player.

Rodriguez didn’t even know that Everton were playing at Leeds United this weekend until one of his Twitch followers told him so.

The Colombia international was a marquee signing and his first performances as an Evertonian were very impressive.

We really thought Carlo Ancelotti had played an absolute blinder by signing the former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich star.

However, Rodriguez’s drive has been lacking massively and it’s clear he really doesn’t want to be at Goodison Park.

It’s also clear that he thinks he’s too good for us.

Sorry, James. But you’re not.

Whoever signs him next will play exactly the same player we’ve had and that could be why it’s proving so difficult to move him on this summer.

Atletico and AC Milan do have a massive appeal about them but do they really want to be signing a player who’s done what he’s done in the last year?

It’s easy to say it now but signing James was a mistake.

In other Everton news, the Toffees have made an approach to sign this mega-money player.
