Everton target Joaquin Correa met with Inter Milan on Friday
Everton-linked Lazio forward Joaquin Correa was scheduled to meet Inter Milan on Friday, according to Alfredo Pedulla.
The TV Dello Sport journalist stated that while Everton were keen on the 27-year-old, his preference is to move to the San Siro amid growing interest from the defending Serie A champions.
A fee in the region of £26million should be enough to tempt Lazio into parting ways with the Argentina international.
Via his personal Twitter account, Pedulla wrote, “Correa will meet with Inter today. Everton has found the square, but he wants to join Inter. Thuram remains a strong name, but today scenarios can change. €30 million.”
Race lost?
We appear to have lost another transfer race to a club that are in dire financial straits.
Despite all the revenue generated from the Premier League, we’re unable to tempt players to move to Goodison Park.
While with Correa, his intentions may be to join Inter Milan, his mind could change if he sees us solidify our interest and offer him higher wages.
He’s clearly a player that can take us to the next level and at 27 is arguably in his peak and is likely to hit the ground running in the Premier League.

Offering higher wages is the only way we can compete against clubs in the Champions League, and given our relatively quiet summer, there have to be funds left in the bank for us to splurge in this window.
Rafa Benitez would have joined under certain promises and it would be unfair to pin the blame on him if the board are not giving him the players he so desperately needs.
