Everton starlet Anthony Gordon might be sent out on loan again
Everton starlet Antony Gordon might not remain at Goodison Park this season, according to David Unsworth.
The Toffees’ Academy Director speaking to the Liverpool Echo revealed that the 20-year-old starlet might not be a part of Rafael Benitez’s first team this season.
Gordon had been tipped to be the Toffees’ breakthrough star this season, but after only appearing for one minute in the Premier League this season, it appears as if he could be set for another spell out on loan [Daily Mail].
Unsworth said: “He had a tough loan, but he’s battling his way back through.
“I don’t know whether he’ll stay or not, but he’s there every day, and he’s fighting for a first-team squad place, which is great to see.”

It appears as if Gordon’s short-term future has yet to be decided, with Unsworth suggesting that he could stay and be part of the first-team squad or he could be shipped out on loan.
The 20-year-old made his Premier League debut for the Toffees in January 2020, but since then, he has only made a further 14 appearances.
It was suggested that he could be used regularly by Benitez, but given that he has missed out against Leeds United, that might not be the case this season.
If he goes back out on loan, we feel it would be a shame as we would love to see Gordon finally handed his chance in the Premier League.
However, as it stands, his short-term future remains unclear, and it will be intriguing to see where he is by the time the transfer window closes in just over a week.
