Kevin Campbell shares verdict on Everton links to Lorenzo Insigne

We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…

Kevin Campbell has been left thrilled as Everton reportedly plot a move for Napoli attacker Lorenzo Insigne this move.

Arena Napoli has shared an update from Ciro Venerato who claims it may cost £25million to bring the Italian to Goodison Park.

Rafa Benitez worked with Insigne at Napoli, and it has been suggested that they would both welcome a reunion this month.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “He’s a really smart player.

“He knows his way around the pitch, not only can he score but he can pick a pass as well, so that would be a really good addition.

“Again, you need a squad because there will be times where Calvert-Lewin may need a partner with him, Insigne can do that.

“I think that could be a really good move.”

Get it done.

With exits expected to be needed before this move is made, there is surely a nervous wait for clubs to come in for the likes of James Rodriguez.

Insigne became even more of a European superstar this summer after guiding Italy to the EUROs and would be a big statement to make.

Benitez looks to be targeting Serie A this summer, with strong links to Joaquin Correa at Lazio too, but a move for one of those two is likely.

With time running out, we need the exit door to open quickly to release Marcel Brands into the market sooner rather than later.
