Rangers value Patterson more than £10million after knocking back Everton bid

Rangers value Nathan Patterson at more than double the £5million bid Everton have tabled, according to the Daily Mail.

The Toffees have had their initial offer for the 19-year-old right-back knocked back by the Scottish giants.

Rafa Benitez wants to strengthen the position, and he sees the Scotland international as a perfect choice [Mirror], but Everton will have to return with a much improved bid to have any chances of landing their man.

Pay up

After landing Demarai Gray for £1.5million in the summer, it appears the Everton board have forgotten how transfer deals ideally work, and we definitely do not expect Rangers to sell their academy graduate for £5million.

While Patterson does not have a lot of experience, he featured at the European Championship with Scotland and is highly rated by manager Steven Gerrard.

Benitez has identified him as someone perfect to replace Seamus Coleman in the long-term, but we will have to table something tangible to lure the Premiership champions into selling.

Everton

With Jonjoe Kenny clearly not in Everton plans, the Rangers sensation would be a perfect replacement as Coleman’s backup, and £10million could be too much for them to turn down.

The youngster will not be walking straight into our starting XI, but he has huge potential and would have definitely impressed Benitez for the club to have made a bid.
