Everton tipped to table new offer for Rangers sensation Nathan Patterson
Everton could table a new and improved bid to sign Rangers right-back Nathan Patterson, according to Times journalist Michael Grant.
Writing on The Times website, Grant reports that the Toffees will either “offer more or look elsewhere” as they look to add a new right-back to Rafa Benitez’s squad before the transfer window closes next week.
It is understood that Everton have offered £5million for Patterson, 19, and if Rangers want a huge sum for the Scotland international, “his representatives are entitled to wonder how that squares with him still waiting for an appearance against a top-flight or European team this season”.

How much to offer?
Patterson is one of the brightest young talents in the Scottish game.
He made his breakthrough at Rangers last season, playing 14 times in all competitions to help them win the Scottish Premiership title and reach the last 16 of the Europa League.
The Glasgow-born full-back played his way into the Scotland squad for the European Championships as a result of his form at Ibrox and it would be interesting to see how he could develop at a Premier League club such as Everton.

However, signing the youngster is likely to prove difficult for the next few days as James Tavernier, Rangers’ first-choice right-back, has been forced into self-isolation due to COVID issues at Ibrox.
Patterson is Steven Gerrard’s only available right back, as a result, and is set to start against Alashkert in the Europa League on Thursday and against Celtic in the Old Firm derby on Sunday.
If we’re going to sign Patterson, it will be after the Old Firm this weekend.
And as it’ll be late in the window, it’s likely to ramp up the price as Gerrard may need a replacement right-back.
It’s looking unlikely when all things are considered.
