Salomon Rondon wants to move to Everton
Salomon Rondon wants to move to Everton in this transfer window, according to Dominic King.
The Daily Mail reporter writing on his Twitter account revealed that the former Newcastle United striker wants a reunion with Rafael Benitez.
The Toffees have been linked with a move for the 31-year-old in this transfer window, and now it appears as if Rondon wants to move to Goodison Park [Alan Myers’ account].
Would Rondon be a good signing?
When Benitez and the Venezuelan were together at Newcastle, Rondon scored 12 goals and provided seven assists in just 33 games.
While the pair also worked together at Dalian Yifang, so Benitez and Rondon have had a good working relationship in the past, and there is no reason why they couldn’t have one again.
Rondon has vast amounts of international and Premier League experience and could prove to be the perfect foil for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
He has also been described as “unbelievable” by Jim White [talkSPORT, 18/03/2019].
Moise Kean appears to be on his way out, so Rondon could come in as a backup striker who Benitez knows and trusts.
To be honest, to us, this sounds like a no-brainer, and if he wants to link up with Benitez again, then the club should be doing everything they can to sign him.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are confident of sealing another major signing – Fabrizio Romano.
