Everton will not return with a third offer for Rangers right-back Nathan Patterson
Everton have indicated they will not return with a third and higher offer for Rangers right-back Nathan Patterson, according to The Athletic.
The Toffees have seen their second bid of £8million plus add-ons tabled earlier this week rejected by the Scottish Premiership giants.
Rangers value the 19-year-old Scotland international at significantly more, but Everton have no plans to return with an improved bid and could now look elsewhere.
Blow?
With just a couple of first-team appearances to his name, Everton believe £8million plus add-ons represents a fair deal, and they are not going to be forced to pay over the odds.
Rangers are clearly not willing to let go of their only cover at right-back, and it is only normal for them to make unrealistic demands just to drive the Toffees interest away.
Manager Rafa Benitez wants a new right-back to provide Seamus Coleman with quality cover and competition, but time is running out as far as getting a deal done for one goes.
New names could still emerge in the coming hours, but should the Goodison Park outfit fail in their bid to bring in someone in the position, could it be a blessing in disguise for Jonjoe Kenny?

However, he could end up reviving his career if he remains beyond this summer, but that is easier said than done.
