Kevin Campbell reacts to Everton interest in Nathan Patterson
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has urged Everton to stop messing around and sign Rangers defender Nathan Patterson.
The Daily Mail has reported on Monday that the Toffees have made a second offer worth up to £8million, which has been rejected.
Campbell believes that Steven Gerrard will want an auction to raise the price, something which he has warned against.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “Everton are testing the waters.
“They’re going to need someone who is going to take over that mantel and he fits the bill, so I think there is other clubs interested.
“Steven Gerrard would like an auction, if Everton are serious, go and put the bid in and get him, don’t mess around.”

Problem.
Patterson missed Rangers’ 1-0 win over Celtic on Sunday due to COVID-19 protocols and being placed in isolation.
It has been reported that he has been informed to stay at home until midweek at the earliest, making any move before tomorrow night basically impossible.
Seamus Coleman has started the season in great form, but it would do the Toffees no harm in agreeing a deal, even to loan Patterson straight back to Ibrox.
This interest won’t disappear, and just because it may not happen today or tomorrow, there may be a big chance of it taking place in January.
