Everton could struggle to sign Luis Diaz before the transfer window closes

Everton are going to struggle to sign Luis Diaz from FC Porto before the transfer window closes as the deal is “very complicated”, according to Carlos Aleman.

The Win Sports TV presenter revealed on his personal Twitter account that the Toffees’ move for Diaz is “very difficult”, and it hinges on James Rodriguez.

It seems as if the 30-year-old’s wage demands are proving difficult to match, and that could scupper the deal.

Diaz to Everton now looking unlikely.

It had been reported earlier today that the Toffees were preparing one last desperate bid for the 24-year-old [Pipe Sierra].

However, the deal now appears like it won’t be completed because of Rodriguez’s wages.

The winger could be a good addition to Rafael Benitez’s squad and would be a nice boost to end what has been a frustrating transfer window for Everton.

However, if Aleman is to be believed, it appears that this deal for Diaz is looking increasingly unlikely unless Rodriguez reduces his wage demands.

So, we will have to see what happens, but as it stands, we can’t see this deal going through.

In other Everton news, one target has requested that he be allowed to leave his current club for a move to the Toffees.
