Everton have bid for Luis Diaz rejected

Everton have had their first bid for Luis Diaz rejected by FC Porto, according to Bruno Andrade.

The UOL Esporte reporter revealed on his official Twitter account that the Portuguese club consider Everton’s first offer too low. It remains to be seen if they will bid again for the winger who Chelsea and Tottenham have monitored.

Diaz had been thought to be closing to move to Goodison, but as it stands, he might not end up joining Rafael Benitez’s side [Daily Express].

Will Everton make another bid?

The Toffees are running out of time to make a move for Diaz, and after having their first offer rejected, the ball is in their court now.

Diaz can play on either winger and has scored 27 goals and provided 14 assists in 101 appearances for Porto.

So, you can see why Benitez wants to sign him, and he could be a brilliant addition to the Toffees, especially given their current wing options.

However, as it stands, this deal doesn’t look like it will be happening unless Everton make an improved offer in the very near future.

So, we will have to see what happens, but Diaz could be one player that the Toffees don’t see at Goodison Park this season.

In other Everton news, the Toffees’ move for one player has hit an impasse.
